One of three forts designed to protect the mouth of the Columbia River, Fort Stevens is an essential part of any visit to Astoria, especially on a sunny day.
Did you know? Fort Stevens remains the only military base on the U.S. mainland that has been attacked by a foreign power since the War of 1812.
Don't miss Coffenbury Lake.
Read more about its history here.

P.S. The wreck of Peter Iredale is technically a part of the Fort Stevens Park. Two birds, one stone.
